Simulation based research is a tool that mimics an aspect of clinical care. It’s a training tool used to improve healthcare provider performance with the overall goal aiming to improve patient care.
Some simulation studies, however, struggle to succinctly report study design or define variables and limitations. Not only does this deter readers from applying the results of this research but can also make it difficult for editors to critically appraise their work.
These guidelines intend to apply standardized reporting guidelines to allow readers to know exactly what was done. By implementing these guidelines, this removes that uncertainty.
