Clinical and Translational Allergy, an official journal of the European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology (EAACI), has launched with BioMed Central under the expert leadership of Editor-in-Chief Jan Lötvall and Managing Editor, Victoria Cardona.
Clinical and Translational Allergy was formally launched at the EAACI congress in Istanbul, Turkey on 13th June 2011. The journal provides a forum for the publication of articles on all aspects of allergy, whether based on clinical, translational or basic research, encouraging discussion among researchers, clinicians, policy makers and educators in the field of allergy.
The journal launched with several articles demonstrating the wide scope of the journal, including a position article by EAACI on diagnostic tools in rhinology, an international collaboration to highlight the currently available tools for diagnosing nasal disease.
Reviews on the increasing popularity of shellfish and consequent rise in shellfish allergy, the impact of fungi on airway allergy diseases, and the role of the skin in allergy, illustrate the high calibre and diversity of research under the allergy umbrella. If you would like to receive regular updates on the articles published in the journal, sign up for article alerts, or to contribute to the journal, submit your manuscript here.
Allergy is an ever expanding field of research with continuing advances in the understanding, diagnosis and treatment of allergy in the global community. Clinical and Translational Allergy aims to become a key tool in the dissemination of these advances worldwide.
