Dr. Mareike Petersen & PD Dr. Mark-Oliver Rödel

Dr. Mareike Petersen (née Hirschfeld) is a scientific associate in the Department data science management at the Museum für Naturkunde, Berlin. During her PhD thesis she addressed the influence of environmental changes to tropical, especially central African frog species. She is in particular interested in how species traits might increase and / or constrain a species survival along environmental and disturbance gradients.

PD Dr. Mark-Oliver Rödel is the head of the Department of Diversity Dynamics and curator of herpetology at the Museum für Naturkunde, Berlin. He is particularly interested in how species and ecosystems functioning are affected by environmental change. With his group he is addressing respective research questions throughout the tropics, with a focus on western Africa, as well as in Germany.
