Horsing Around at the 9th ICEEP Conference

With the run up to the London 2012 Olympic Games next month,
it’s easy to forget about our equine competitors, who will be demonstrating
their supreme athletic ability in events such as show jumping and eventing. However, BMC
Veterinary Research
will
be getting involved in the excitement, and will be
giddying up to Liverpool for the 9th International Conference on Equine
Exercise Physiology
(ICEEP) at Aintree Racecourse on the 16th and 17th June to
learn about the current research in equine sports science.

The scientific programme has been tailored for a wide audience
with sessions for both physiotherapists and veterinarians, in addition to riders
and horse trainers. Several leading national
and international experts
in equine exercise physiology and musculoskeletal
health will also be presenting their research for the latest on performance
horse health and exercise. International
guest speakers include physiotherapist Dr Narelle Stubbs (official
physiotherapist for the Australian Olympic Equestrian Team) who will discuss
their current research and practical techniques on how to get the best from the
performance horse.

The Executive Editor of BMC
Veterinary Research
, Dr Hayley Henderson will be attending the Conference, and
would be delighted to chat to you about
your current research, publishing your work in BMC Veterinary Research, or even joining our extensive editorial
board, which includes world renowned
Section and Associate
Editors. We’ll see
you at the finish line
!
