Katherine Gwynn, Patricia J. Kelly & Megha Ramaswamy

Katherine Gwynn is a public health worker with experience in health education, including work on an NIH-funded cervical cancer research grant (www.kumc.edu/she) that uses sex education as a health intervention, in-patient smoking cessation counseling, and curriculum building with LGBT youth.

Patricia J. Kelly is a long-time public health nurse and researcher who has implemented interventions in detention facilities with girls in San Antonio, and men and women in Kansas City. Her other work has been around women’s health advocacy, community-based intervention, and violence prevention.

Megha Ramaswamy has evaluated jail-based interventions in New York City and has designed, implemented, and evaluated such interventions in Kansas City for the last decade with Patricia Kelly. She is the Principal Investigator of the Sexual Health Empowerment project, which is funded by the National Institutes of Health/National Cancer Institute (grant R01CA181047).
