David Fortus & Limor Daphna

David Fortus is the Chief Justice Bora Laskin Professorial Chair of Science Teaching at the Weizmann Institute of Science in Israel. He investigates the physiological, environmental and curricular factors that influence adolescents’ motivation to engage with science, in and out of schools. He has been a high school physics teacher, the co-founder and co-director of a Waldorf high school, a physicist and a project director in the aerospace industry (in the picture, as a proud 4-years old boy).

Limor Daphna has a Ph.D. in biochemistry, and became interested in education after becoming a mother. Since then she has worked as a high school science teacher and has completed a post-doctoral fellowship at the Weizmann Institute of Science, working with David Fortus to better understand how to motivate students to engage with science.
