Agneta Åkesson & Carolina Donat-Vargas

Agneta Åkesson is professor of epidemiology specializing in nutrition and toxicology at the Institute of Environmental Medicine, Karolinska Institutet, Stockholm, Sweden. Her research focuses on how diet and lifestyle as well as the exposure to environmental pollutants affect the population health with special interest in evaluation of benefits and risks.

Carolina Donat-Vargas did her PhD in nutritional epidemiology, focusing her dissertation on the harmful effects of dietary exposure of environmental pollutants on human health. She has currently a postdoc research position at the Institute of Environmental Medicine, Karolinska Institutet, Stockholm, Sweden; where she continues exploring on this topic.
